The global aluminum industry traditionally summarizes and represents its best achievements every two years in autumn. In 2008, this event was held in the format of the Aluminum Week, which covered the exhibition "Aluminium 2008" itself, iincluding the 2nd international conference on aluminum, straight at the International Exhibition Centre Essen, and in parallel an international conference on aluminum alloys JCAA11 , housed in RWTH Aachen University- 80 km away from Essen. The central event - the 7th International Fair and Exhibition "Aluminium 2008" was held on 23-25 September.
869 companies from 46 countries took part in the exhibition. The success of the Forum exceeded all expectations. Indicators of previous exhibition 2006 have been significantly improved. The exhibition space was increased by 15%, the number of exhibitors by 27%, the number of visitors - the growth of 10%, nearly 40% came from abroad.
Particular attention was paid to the representatives of transport, construction and engineering industries, total number of visitors from these industries was increased by 60%. This fact once again confirms the dynamic growth in the use of aluminum in these areas. The Company Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, organizer of the exhibition, has once again demonstrated the high level of professionalism, honed many years of experience, combined with the capacity for responsiveness to new developments in industry and science. A sense of novelty and the search for new ways of presenting information were visible at every step.
Special segment pavilions dedicated to individual topics were organized. This primarily relates to the pavilions for welding and joining of aluminum, aluminum casting, surface treatment, primary products, tooling. Attention was paid to the geographic factor, in particular, it relates to the pavilions of China, the USA, France, Italy and Turkey.

However, Russia has already been presented not only by individual companies, Rusal and KUMZ, but for ï»їï»їthe first time in Essen Aluminium Extruders Association (AEA) of Russia ï»їï»їdemonstrated the combined expositionï»ї, which was attended by industry leaders - Tatprof, Alunext and Segal. Joint stand attracted great attention of visitors, press, cinema - and television.
